Gout Pseudo
Dear Friend,
Gout pseudo or false arthritis might be attributable to tendonitis or a pulled ligament. It does not matter which name you refer to this debilitating disease by, the end result is the same. PAIN.
If you have ever been awakened at night or had trouble falling off to sleep due to physical pain, then you know what a dickens of a time it can be. Gout attacks are similar to asthma attacks. When a person suffering from asthma tries to sleep, they may drift off for a little while. But invariably between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM researchers tell us that most asthmatics will be awakened with coughing, wheezing and feeling chest tightness. This in contrast with gout attacks occurs about the same times however for different reasons.
Gout sufferers will often complain of the burning in their big toes. Some describe it as a feeling of skin trying to split or erupt beneath the surface. The skin does not break through and cause bleeding and such, but the pain is just as powerful. Now because it happens at night when most activity around the home is dead stopped still, your pain and discomfort causes you to focus on it even more so than at other times.
Traditional Gout Treatments
Since gout is a form of the arthritis family, it carries with it many of the common treatments. They are: NSAIDs, pain relievers and drugs that inhibit the pain. But what about getting at the root cause? That is a good question.
Since we know that uric acid levels are often higher and more elevated in the bodies of gout sufferers, some treatments are aimed at reducing the amount of these levels. This can be done in a few ways. One way is by taking medication that actually causes the body to flush more of that chemical out the body through the natural processes of urination. Another method is to take medications that reduce the production of uric acid.
Prevention seems like the best option but alas, many people do not know of their gout condition until it is to late. They have a burning in their big toes and want the swelling, pain and discomfort to stop. So, they see a doctor that then diagnosis the problem as gout. The downside to this approach is that some of the medications have unfavorable adverse events and may result in a weakened immune system or the addition of another disease. So please weigh all your options with your doctor.
Alternative Gout Remedies
Some herbal gout remedies may be a benefit for you to try as well. These medicinal herbs and remedies have been around for years. Some as old as 2500 years ago. The kings and Queens had gout and of course they would be treated by some agents to provide relief.
Turmeric and ginger are among the leading herbal gout treatments. They are in many preparations and often are used to provide relief of pain and the swelling associated with gout. Another remedy is that of soaking an affected area in a concoction of apple cider vinegar and rose hips. This can reduce uric acid levels and the crystals by a flushing process. Your skin is porous and has the ability to absorb whatever you put on it. By soaking your targeted area, whether it is the elbow or your big toes you can find some relief.
